Srinagar, Apr 19 : Police on Tuesday said to have arrested three persons for their alleged involvement in different burglary incidents, including one on a shrine, in Palhallan Pattan of Baramulla district.
“Police Post Palhallan received written complaints from the Intizamiya Committee Ziyarat Sharif Palhallan and other residents of Palhallan areas regarding theft incidents from time to time and to the effect case FIR No. 66/2022 u/s 457, 380 IPC stands registered in Police Station Pattan”, a police spokesperson said in a statement.
During the course of investigation, it said, a special investigation police team headed by SHO Police Station Pattan assisted by IC PP Palhallan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan was constituted and raids at several suspected locations were conducted, many suspects were called for questioning and finally arrested one thief identified as Bilal Ahmad Waza son of Mohammad Ashraf Waza resident of Raipora Palhallan, Pattan. On his disclosure involvement of other partners namely Azardin Bhat alias Betab son of Ab Majeed Bhat resident of Tantraypora Palhallan and Hashim Ramzan Gojri alias DP son of Mohammad Ramzan Gojri resident of Gojri Mohalla Palhallan was surfaced and were immediately arrested.
“On their disclosure, CCTV Camera, mobile phones and copper items were recovered from them. They also confessed their involvement in different theft incidents which took place within the Palhallan area”, the statement maintains.
“General public of the area appreciated the action by the Baramulla Police against the thieves”, the statement concludes.
