Srinagar, Sep 08 : The State Investigation Unit (SIU) team of district Srinagar, with the assistance of police teams of districts Kulgam and Awantipora, affixed proclamations orders under section 83 of CrPC on the residences of four active terrorists who are absconders in many terror cases.
“Designated and Special Court under NIA Act, Srinagar issued General Non-Bailable warrants u/s 299/512 ,25 Police Act, read with 73 CrPC, followed by Proclamation orders dated 04.09.2023 u/s 82 CrPC against the following active terrorists namely Umais Ahmed Wani S/o Nisar Ahmed Wani R/o Chawalgam, Kulgam, Basit Ahmed Dar S/o Late Abdul Rashid Dar R/o Redwani, Kulgam, Owais Ferooz S/o Ferooz Ahmed R/o Festbal, Pampore and Momin Gulzar S/o Gulzar Ahmed Mir R/o Firdose Colony, Eidgah, Srinagar after their involvement was established in a case under FIR number 127/2022 u/s 13 ,18,20,38 & 39 UA(P) Act, 7/25 IA Act of PS Parimpora, case FIR No 50/2022 u/s 121 ,121A ,307, 302 IPC , 7/27 A Act, 13,16, 18, 20 UAP Act of PS Soura and case FIR No 02 /2023 u/s 13,18,21,39 UAP Act, 8/21 NDPS Act of PS Kothibagh,” a police spokesman said in a statement.
By issuing these orders, the Court has directed the accused persons to appear before it within a period of 30 days from the date of publication of the proclamation, failing which proceedings under section 83 CrPC shall be initiated against them. Today, i.e., 09.09.2023, proclamation orders have been published in local newspapers namely Greater Kashmir and Kashmir Uzma, the statement said.
The proclamations orders were affixed on the conspicuous part of their residences and contents of proclamation orders were read over to the family members of accused persons in a language which they could comprehend, it added.
“Copies of newspapers in which the proclamation orders were published were provided to their family members against proper receipts. Moreover, the orders were also affixed at conspicuous places of the towns wherein they resided. In addition, photography of each location was conducted as per due protocol. The aforementioned proclamation orders were transmitted verbally along the roads and nearby locations also,” police said.
Pertinently, the involvement of said accused persons is necessitated in many terrorism-related cases in the UT of J&K. The accused persons are presently active terrorists and are affiliated with the banned terrorist outfit LeT, police said—(KNO)
