Conservator of Forests (CoF) South Kashmir Irfan Ali Shah IFS today reviewed working of Forest Department in Awantipora,Pulwama.
During the visit he reviewed preparation for upcoming planting programs including Chinar planting. He directed for organising Institutional plantation programs in educational institutions of Awantipora immediately and for organising mega Environment Awareness program in Campus of IUST, Awantipora.
He also stressed on strict implementation of Forest Rights Act and expediting of processing of Individual and community claims under the Act especially in Tral range.He also directed for immediate removal of Forest encroachments especially in Tral Forests in a time bound manner.He directed for accelerating Forest Infrastructure development .It was informed informed that all preparations are in place for roll out of National Transit Pass System in Awantipora .
CoF directed for early submission of project proposal for setting of new Forest Check Posts along the National Highway. He also directed for creating of Women Self Help Groups for livelihood generation and Development of Youth connect programs in Awantipora.
Powerpoint presentations on Greening of Awantipora_Anantnag National Highway strips and Forest Fire Management plan for Pampore Range were also made during the review meeting .It was also decided to raise a Rock cum Cactus garden and new trekking routes in Awantipora.
Later CoF did Inspection of Central Nursery where he directed for raising of quality planting stocks for eventual successfull field plantations.He directed for greening of all barren slopes in Awantipora through suitable forestry interventions.
Late evening,CoF attended a greviances redressal interaction with the Awantipora Town forest staff of all ranks in which their greviances and service matters were discussed threadbare and on spot redressal was done.CoF informed that preparations for Departmental Promotion Committee meeting in South Kashmir for promotion of Multitasking staff is underway and shall be conducted soon.
DFO Awantipora Forest Division Waseem Farooq Mir ,Range officer Arooq Shah ,Range officer Awantipora Jawan Bakhat ,Range officer Tral,Range officer Pampore Mr Ishfaq,Range officer Kakapora Mr Azad Reshi, Foresters,Forest Guards,other MTS staff ,office staff were present during the visit.
