Baramulla Police held five extortionists for being involved in blackmailing, threatening and extortion in Shalteng Sheeri; Extortion money recovered; Case registered
PS Sheeri received written complaint from one person (name withheld) wherein he stated that on 27 February, 2023 he was on way to his home on reaching Shalteng Sheeri, five persons reportedly drug addicts , assaulted him and fleeced Rs.20000 from him.
Police registered a case FIR No. 18/2023 under relevant sections in PS Sheeri and investigation was started.
Baramulla Police after strenuous efforts arrested all five accused persons namely Nasir Ahmad Dar S/O Mohd Amin R/O Shalteng Sheeri, Irshad Ahmad Malla S/O Ghulam Din, Umar Akbar Ganie S/O Mohd Akbar, Tajamul Bashir Malla S/O Bashir Ahmad & Waseem Ahmad Malla S/O Manzoor Ahmad Malla all residents of Sheeri Baramulla.Extortion money of Rs. 20000/- was also recovered from the possession of the accused persons taken into custody immediately.
