Srinagar, Aug 29 : In a significant development regarding Article 370, the Supreme Court of India Tuesday raised questions about the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) amid the ongoing day-to-day proceedings.
The court’s inquiry prompted Solicitor General Tushar Mehta to provide insights into the matter, emphasizing that the status of Jammu and Kashmir as a Union Territory (UT) is ‘not permanent’ and that statehood will be reinstated once ‘normalcy’ returns.
